Seeks suitably qualified applicants for the position of CLASSROOM TEACHER
This is an exciting opportunity for a classroom teacher to join our positive and supporting team for 2024, with the possibility of becoming ongoing. Knowledge and experience in delivering a structured literacy program would be advantageous. As a small school, you will be presented with many opportunities to develop as a leader in education.
The community of St Colman’s Mortlake, approximately 40 kms from Warrnambool, is in search of a classroom teacher who is committed to:
- Nurturing a faith community within a Catholic context that reflects on the past, prepares for the future and lives fully in the present whilst living out the Gospel within the wider community.
- The safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.
- Developing meaningful and committed relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.
- Working collaboratively with staff to build a culture of excellence.
- Contributing to a professional learning community.
- Understanding the content of the curriculum and creating learning activities that engage students in learning this content.
- Knowledge and experience in delivering a structured literacy program, especially the Sounds Write program, would be advantageous.
- Using purposeful assessment that provides data to drive and plan further teaching.
- Providing structures that challenge and support, in order to develop confident, independent and resilient learners.
- supporting the philosophy of Catholic Education and to the Vision of St Colman’s Catholic Primary School.
