Term 1 Week 9 Monday 22nd March
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
It is now our second last week of a term that is longer than the usual nine weeks. As a result we can see the energy levels waining and illness rising in our school community. It is important to remember that the physical wellbeing of our students is vital for their learning and wellbeing. We ask parents to monitor this over the next two weeks and consider a rest day if your child shows signs of needing one.
Swimming Success
Well done to Ava and Pippa on Friday for their swaimming success at the Regionals in Horsham. Ava was 9th in her butterfly and swam a personal best and Pippa was 9th in breastroke and 7th in backstroke also swimming a personal best.
Birthday Wishes
Happy birthday to

Mercy Taster Day
The Year 5 and Year 6 students will be attending Mercy in Noorat for a Taster day of life in a secondary school. The students will bus to Noorat in the morning and will have their normal classes with Mrs O'Connor before lunch and classes with Mercy staff after lunch. This is the College open day so parents are welcome to pick up their students for the tours and events that have been organised from 2:30pm at Noorat and from 3:30pm at the Camperdown campus. A permission form has been made available on PAM.
Navy Jacket Order
We are ordering more navy winter jackets. If you wish to order one for your child, please let Jane know by the end of the day on Wednesday. We will also order extra's to have in stock. Cost is $65.
If you have a jacket that is no longer in use, you are welcome to resell it through our uniform shop or via Facebook.
Uniform Changes
The St Colman's School Advisory Council has continued to work hard on adjusting our school uniform to provide the best options that cover a number of important criteria. The latest recommendation is to change the summer uniform ready for the beginning of Term 4 this year.
- We have adopted a new style of sports shorts for all students that has the school logo on the leg.
- We have a new summer dress for girls that is a different cut and fabric to our existing dress.
- We have chosen to phase out our light blue polo shirts for the navy sports for everyday wear with grey shorts for boys and girls.
All these changes will see a gradual phasing out of old uniform to avoid waste of good clothing and an immediate financial burden on families. The next challenge for the SAC will be the winter uniform.
Major Raffle and Trivia Night
The School Advisory Council has decided to run an online raffle as our major fundraiser for 2021. The raffle will be launched at the end of April and will be drawn at our Trivia Night on Friday 18th June. This year we will not be conducting a silent auction but will be asking local businesses to donate vouchers for prizes.
The raffle tickets will be $25 each and the total prize pool will be valued at $4,500. Further details next week.
