Term 3 Week 1 Monday 12th July
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
Welcome back to Term 3. We hope that all our families had a safe and enjoyable break and are ready for a great term of learning, fun and friendships ahead.
Staff Leave
Jane will be on leave for the first two weeks of term 3 and will not return to St Colman's until Monday 26th of July.
Jenny will be on leave from Thursday the 15th of July to Friday the 6th of August.
With the COVID outbreaks across the country, Rosie will no longer be on leave for the first week of this term.
Work Experience
This week we welcome Sam Carmody back to St Colman's as he completes his work experience with us. We hope he finds the experience enjoyable and rewarding.
Welcome
We welcome Elorraine Saunders back to St Colman's this term to complete her teacher training placement over the next 5 weeks. Elorraine's time with us last term was cut short by circumstances and we are hoping for a better run this time. She will be working in the Middle room for 3 weeks and the Junior room for 2 weeks. We hope she finds her time with us rewarding and helpful in her journey to becoming a teacher.
Sacramental Program
Last year with our extended lockdown, our sacramental program for initiation into the Catholic Church did not take place. Our cycle was up to Confirmation for the Grade 2 & 3 students wishing to participate. To catch up, we will offer this sacrament to the Grade 2, 3 & 4 students this year. There will be four after school sessions early next term and the ceremony will be held on Sunday 5th of September. We will contact each family to confirm their intention to participate.
Weekly Awards
Congratulations to our winners this week:-
Reports and Parent/Teacher Interviews
Our school reports were made available to parents through PAM in the last week of last term. There is now an opportunity to book a Parent/Teacher appointment on the second week of term on Wednesday 21st of July. If you are unable to make this date, please contact your child's teacher to organise an alternative appointment.
Trivia Night
We have reschuled out Trivia Night to Friday 30th July 2021. We hope people are able to join us in this fun community event next term.
Fundraiser
A huge thank you to Allen family for running a fundraising event in the name of St Colman's School on the 20th of June on their property. They provided a BBQ lunch for attendees at a farm tour opportunity and made $1000 for the school. Thank you both for your support and hard work.
Tri Sports
The date for our Tri Sports is now tomorrow, Tuesday the 13th of July. The 5/6 children will compete in either football at Noorat Rec Reserve or Netball at the Terang Rec Reserve. There will be canteen facilities at both venues and parents are asked to send plenty of water and warm clothing for the day. We will be travelling by bus to these days.
