Term 3 Week 5 Monday 9th August
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
Wow, what a roller coaster ride. I have left the old newsletter content that was to be released this morning below and replaced it with the joy of having everyone able to return to school onsite tomorrow. Thanks again to families for your patience and resilience with lockdown number 6 and please remember to return all computers and Junior learning packs with your children tomorrow. Please leave Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday packets in the plastic wallet as we may need these in the future.
WELCOME BACK
Well, here we are again. Despite the shock and disbelief of another lockdown, families and teachers now know what is needed to resume remote learning to ensure children continue to succeed during this time. We hope that we have put in place supports and structures that make this difficult time for families one of success. If we can support families further, please contact the school immediately.
Congratulations
The community of St Colman's would like to extend our congratulations to Voula and Dale Hannabury on the arrival of Ava Georgianna born on Friday 6th of August. A beautiful little sister to Dom, Hayley and Kira.
Olympics Fun Day
We will still have our Olympics Fun day this Friday the 13th of August so could you please dress your child in their house colours on the day.
School Closure Days
Despite the early end of lockdown, we are still postponing the two closure days below.
Our planned closure day on Thursday the 19th has been postponed until later in the year so this will be a normal school day.
The closure day on Monday 16th will also be postponed until October 25th due to current restrictions.
Hooptime Basketball
Our Hooptime competition scheduled for this Friday the 13th will now be either postponed again or cancelled completely for 2021. We will let you know when this is announced.
Birthdays
Dom Stavropoulos 11th August
Sacramental Program Postponed
Our current lockdown and probable restrictions after will mean that our Sacramental Program will need to be postponed until a later date. This is always a great celebration in our school community and we would like to be able to do it properly.
Our Diocesan Community Newsletter
The link below is the "Our Diocesan Community" Newsletter which has articles and photos from parishes and schools across the Ballarat Diocese. It is always interesting to see if you know any of the people featured in each issue.
