Fees & Levies

"We welcome all students and their families who share or respect our Catholic faith, values and traditons. Catholic education is supported by State and Federal funding, with families contributing the balance of the cost of educating their children. At times, some families are unable to meet their commitment to the full costs of education. As a Catholic school system, we ensure fee relief mechanisms are available to support families in time of need. We encourage these discussions on enrolment or as these needs emerge."

WHAT DOES IT COST TO SEND MY CHILD TO ST COLMAN’S?
It is important to stress that no student will be excluded because of an inability to pay fees. In these cases a suitable fee structure will be negotiated with the Principal.

However, it is the expectation that all families make every effort to meet their financial commitments. It is a matter of justice to all students and families that the financial burden is equally distributed.

Our school fees include camps, excursions, stationery, books, computers and art supplies. The only additional costs are uniforms, lunch orders and casual days. This means that parents do not need to pay for additional items throughout the year.

The school fees for 2024 are as follows:

  • Family and Capital Fee $1,300 per family
  • Book and Stationery Levy $250 per child
  • Camps and Excursions - starting at $60 for Foundation, Year 1 and 2 students, $230 for Year 3 and 4 students and up to $320 for Year 5 and 6 students

This equates to approximately $30 dollars per week for a student in Foundation to Year 2. If there are more than one child in the family it becomes cheaper again.

FAMILY FEE ASSISTANCE SCHEME
The Diocese of Ballarat, through the Catholic Education Office, offers a Family Fee Assistance Scheme to assist families to send their children to Catholic primary schools.

The scheme is available to families eligible for a means tested Health Care Card, Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran Affairs Pensioner Card. This scheme reduces the cost of the Family Fee to a maximum of $520 per year. The Book and Stationery Levy and the Camps and Excursions Levy are then added to the school fee account to give a total fee amount for the year.

Catholic schools have always welcomed families of all financial means. We hope that this scheme will make sending your child to a Catholic school even more affordable.

Fee accounts are issued once per term. Fees may be paid each week, fortnight, month, term, half-yearly or annually. Fees may be paid via Direct Debit, cash or by cheque.
